World's priciest dune buggy looks like giant remote control car - but costs £157,000

Looking like it's been driven straight out of a futuristic toy box, this is the world's most expensive dune buggy - costing a whopping £157,000.

Despite looking like a giant remote control car that you might find wrapped up under a Christmas tree, the Sidewinder can reach a tyre-burning top speed of 93mph.

Powered by a massive 630bhp, the sleek, gun-metal grey buggy goes from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds.

The dune-conquering buggy has been made by Swedish company Gray Designs, and its robust suspension and high-tech chassis are built for comfort - even when you're flying down a steep Saharan dune.

A spokesperson for Gray Designs said: ‘The Sidewinder is designed to enjoy the hobby of sand dune racing in luxury and style.

‘Whether it's in the Middle East or the US, the Sidewinder is the perfect vehicle to take you from dune to dune in comfort.’

The Sidewinder is powered by an LSX Bowtie big block engine and supported by 3.0 KING bypass shock absorbers.

Inside the driver is surrounded by a full array of matching OLED infotainment and display screens that are designed in-house by Eduard Gray, and delivered by infotainment specialists Swedspot.

Using an Android-based platform, the fully-customisable vehicle enables developers all over the world to fine tune the car for each individual customer’s needs and desires.
