This branch of Burger King has pulled out all the stops in a bid to outdo its arch-rival, dressing the whole restaurant up as a spooky McDonald’s for Halloween.

Staff at the branch in Queens, New York draped white tarpaulin over their building in an elaborate dress up attempt, with just a pair of sinister branded eyes revealing its true ownership.

The Burger King logo is still just visible through the ghostly googly eye peepholes, just in case people get too confused and start trying to order Big Macs.

Special signage read “Booooo! Just kidding, we still flame grill our burgers. Happy Halloween.”

The move has proved a great PR exercise for the chain, with burger-lovers to taking to Twitter to express their appreciation.

Not everyone was lovin’ it, however - some Twitter users even went so far as accusing Burger King of pettiness!

Whatever next? Zizzi’s taking a dig at Pizza Express’ dough balls while dressed as Dracula? Maybe next year…
