Long story short: you fail.

A dramatic high-speed maritime chase took place in the Mediterranean this week when two Albanian men attempted to smuggle millions of pounds’ worth of weed into Italy.

They set off from Albania and were heading to Bari, southern Italy. The pair were jetting across the Mediterranean sea at high speeds in the dead of night when coastguards spotted them.

With huge packages of marijuana strapped to the sides of their jet skis, they tried to escape police. One man got off his jet ski and headed inland after being chased by officers in a speedboat for 20 minutes.

The other was surrounded and eventually surrendered. Both men were spotted throwing packages into the sea, which police later recovered.

The 200kg of marijuana they were trying to smuggle into the country has an estimated street value of €2 million (around £1.7m).

Both men were arrested and charged with drugs trafficking and violations of maritime safety.
