This Morning viewers call for Miriam Margolyes to replace hosts after sweary blunder

Miriam Margolyes has impressed This Morning viewers so much with her latest chaotic appearance on the show that they are calling for her to become a regular host.

The Harry Potter and Call the Midwife star is a favourite guest on the ITV daytime show, where she has left hosts and viewers in hysterics in the past by swearing and breaking wind live on air.

Margolyes' appearance on Wednesday's show was no less chaotic, as she took on the role of agony aunt for a viewer phone in.

The 82-year-old star took one call from a viewer who was having problems with her partner ignoring her in favour of his phone.

She told the woman: "What you could do is one day, when he comes home, you could be completely naked, and display yourself. Push up your breasts and show him what you’ve got and say, 'Look at me and not that f***ing screen'."

As hosts Holly Willoughby and Josie Gibson laughed and apologised for the on-air swearing, Margolyes did not appear to take the hint with her sweary comments continuing to another caller.

One viewer complained about their annoying neighbours parking over their driveway and leaving debris in their garden, to which Margolyes advised: "throw the s*** over the wall".

As the calls continued, one viewer tweeted: "They’ve literally given up apologising for Miriam Margolyes swearing now."

Many of the show's viewers were delighted to see Margolyes back on form, as one person tweeted: "I think at this point Miriam Margolyes should replace Holly."

Someone else agreed: "If Miriam margolyes presented that show every day I’d stick with the show for the whole 2 and half hours."

Another viewer commented: "Miriam margolyes on #ThisMorning today is the best thing to happen to the show in a LONG time."

Plenty of viewers called for Margolyes to return regularly, as one person tweeted: "Oh Miriam Margoleys is bloody TV gold. Can she be a regular on #ThisMorning."

Someone else wrote: "Thank you to Miriam for her lovely advice, not just to the callers but to us all. So many people can make you feel worthless sometimes and her words inspire us. please let this be more regular."

Another fan added: "Miriam is clearly an articulate intelligent compassionate woman #ThisMorning love her."

However, not everyone was entertained by This Morning's guest - one viewer commented: "The vile, unfunny, crude Miriam Margolyes being rolled out to cause controversy. I'll bet when she swears they'll all be apologetic. What do they expect?"
