A DJ and radio presenter has given an insight into some of Glastonbury Festival ’s hidden bars which you should keep on your radar this year. Glastonbury Festival is jam-packed with more than just music, and you’ll always need some place to explore and party after the main stages stop the music.

But don’t fret, there are plenty of smaller stages and tents you can scurry away to spend the early hours. Shana Gujral has headed to the iconic Somerset festival to host the breakfast show on Worthy FM, Glastonbury’s own radio station, as well as playing a DJ set at the new Kinetic Bar in The Common.

Ahead of her arrival, she spilled some secrets about the bars you probably won’t know about. While many punters will have heard about the likes of The Bread & Roses, West Holts Bar and Avalon Inn, some are nestled from prying eyes.

The first up is Maceos located in block9 in the South East Corner. Tipped as a Crew Bar, you can still get in if you can get someone to knab you a wristband by someone who’s staff.

In a TikTok video from earlier this month, Shana listed three secret bars that you’ll absolutely want to get into. She captioned the video: “Disclosure played a secret set at Maceos last year, deffo worth a visit As a festival goer you can get into Maceos if you get someone to get a wristband!!”

Crew can get in with their wristband, but Shana explains that anyone can get a wristband from the bar once inside. So keep your eyes peeled. Maceos has also been known to host some secret sets from the likes of Fatboy Slim and Disclosure. The latter performed there last year.

Next up is the Tow & Hitch, which is Arcadia’s crew bar. Open both day and night, Tow & Hitch comes equipped with fire pits, serving up cask ales, cocktails, and food by Hidden Pizza & Chip Shack.

The bar will also be hosting a number of acts this year, including Arcadia Sound System, Tow & Hitch DJs, and Rompa’s Reggae Shack. There’s also plenty of space to chill if you’re looking for some respite.

Lastly, the Unfairground Bar, whose existence is like a rumour, as you won’t find details of it on Google so easily. However, it definitely does exist.

Deep in the South East Corner lies the Unfairground, the field for subversive art, performance and underground music. Much like the other bars, the Unfairground also hosts secret sets.

Shana’s tip is that if you know a crew worker, ask them to get you a wristband. Once you have a wristband, you’ll be able to swan in to get a slice of the behind the scenes action.
