Timelapse Shows Portion of Women's March Crowd

Hundreds of thousands of people jammed onto the National Mall for the Women’s March in Washington on Saturday, January 21.

The crowd was so large that event organizers had to ditch plans for a formal march from the Mall to the White House, according to a report. Instead, the crowd was told to march on their own to the White House by other streets. At least 500,000 people were expected to attend the rally.

Hundreds of other rallies were held in solidarity with the Washington march across the United States and the world. Hundreds of thousands attended marches in Los Angeles, New York and Chicago.
