Yahoo News Tom Hardy will star in one of BBC's new comedy pilots
Tom Hardy, Arthur Darvill and Tim Vine are among the stars of the BBC's 12 new comedy pilots.
The pilots are split across three strands: the revived Comedy Playhouse on BBC One; BBC Two's New on Two; and BBC Three's Comedy Slices (formerly known as Comedy Feeds).
Hardy will star in Comedy Slices' animated sitcom Sticky, alongside Javone Prince, Kayvan Novak and Charlotte Riley, which follows four best friends who attend a college located in London's mythical borough of Shatford.
With everyone depending on a Wi-Fi connection, their world is thrown into chaos when the internet suddenly disappears, leading the gang to embark on a rescue mission to find out who kidnapped the web and why.
Sticky also stars Murder in Successville's Tom Davis and former Doctor Who star Arthur Darvill, and is created by Fonejacker's Ed Tracy.
The Comedy Playhouse strand on BBC One features Tim Vine Travels Through Time, which Vine describes as "Doctor Who with puns", Mister Winner starring Upstart Crow's Spencer Jones, and Static with Rob Beckett.
BBC Two's New on Two season includes sketch show Famalam, The Other One written by Motherland's Holly Walsh, and The Pact starring Bridget Jones' Baby's Sarah Solemani.
Alongside Sticky, BBC Three's Comedy Slices feature Chinese Burn, Hallmakers, Kayvan Novak's Celebrity Voicemail (adapted from his Radio 4 comedy), Wannabe from the team behind People Just Do Nothing, and Enterprice.
