Toney retires as CEO of COA

May 8—ELKHART — The Council on Aging of Elkhart County recently announced the retirement of David Toney as its CEO. Toney joined the organization in December 2014 as an interim CEO and was later contracted as the CEO in June 2015.

According to information provided by COA, Toney played a significant role in the organization's growth and development. One of the most notable accomplishments during his time in charge was the successful expansion of the transportation fleet to include 16 vehicles. This significantly improved the previous fleet size and allowed better service to the organization's clients and stakeholders.

Another major accomplishment during Mr. Toney's tenure was driving eight consecutive years of sales growth, the COA stated.

"This achievement was a testament to the hard work and dedication of the organization's staff and its leadership, including Mr. Toney," the press release reads. "In addition, Mr. Toney was instrumental in implementing technological advancements in the routing software for transportation and EVV systems for in-home care. This streamlined the organization's processes, leading to more efficient service delivery and growth.

"Mr. Toney's contributions to the Council on Aging of Elkhart County have been invaluable. His leadership and vision have helped to position the organization for continued success in the future. The Council on Aging is a nonprofit organization which has a goal of improving the quality of life and the dignity of the aging population in Elkhart County. The COA supports seniors and their families through various services such as in-home care, transportation, and a wide range of life enrichment programs.
