Strictly's Tony Adams in 'disagreement' with dance partner Katya Jones on live show

Watch: Tony Adams and partner Katya Jones 'row' on Strictly live show

Strictly Come Dancing's Tony Adams and partner Katya Jones were caught on camera apparently arguing during the live show.

The former England manager was very disappointed with his own performance after making multiple mistakes in his Salsa and struggling with some risky lifts, scoring just 21/40 from the judges.

As the credits rolled on the Saturday night live show in Week 7 all the couples gathered on the dancefloor behind hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman clapping along in time to the music.

But Adams, 56, and Jones, 33, could be seen having a heated discussion in the background, just after the video clip of their performance had been shown.

Jones had her back to camera, confronting Adams, who appeared to be demonstrating a move to her before shrugging and shaking his head, speaking rapidly.

Despite being bottom of the leader board, the pair yet again escaped the dance off and so have made it through to Week 8 of the celebrity dance contest.

Jones said on social media: "THANK YOU for voting us through to week 8!! We are beyond grateful ! And we hope you can see how hard we are trying ! So if want to see us dance another week, so we will keep doing so trying our best!

"@tonyadamsofficial impresses me every day! I’m just loving every single day teaching him to dance, seeing his improvement and growth! We are not here to play it safe cause life really begins at the end of your comfort zone! Let’s gooooo."

Adams has already struggled to reign in his emotions on the show, apologising to head judge Shirley Ballas for heckling her over her low scoring.

In Halloween Week the retired footballer said: "I've got to say to Shirley, I ain't got a clue, but I've got to apologise for my comment. I was out of order. Dont go home Shirley, because you are Strictly."

In Week Five the retired footballer and his performed a Cha-Cha-Cha to the Grandstand theme tune and he made multiple missteps.

But when Ballas held up her '4' paddle Adams was seen on camera bellowing: "Shirley! Go home!"
