A police investigation is underway after a spate of street robberies and attacks in Bury.

Police said the spate of incidents happened between 6pm and 8.30pm last Friday (June 7). The victims were 'targeted at random' in the spate of street robberies and assaults.

The incidents were reported on Sawyer Street, Woodhill Road and on the Kirklees Trail. In an appeal posted on the GMP Bury South Facebook yesterday, police said the suspects were believed to be a group of around five to seven males.

They were described as being white and mixed race, with some wearing face coverings and gloves. Police said some of the suspects were also not wearing a top.

Officers investigating the robberies and attacks now want to speak to any witnesses or anyone who has CCTV or dash cam footage from the area. Police said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV, Ring doorbell or dashcam footage to contact DC Dave Potter on 0161 8568122 or by email 19123@gmp.police.uk.

"You are also encouraged to get in touch if you have any information relating to these incidents which may assist the police investigation. You can also share information anonymously with CrimeStoppers on or 0800 555 111.

"We understand that this may cause concern to local residents but we believe this to be an isolated incident and we are working hard to identify all those responsible."
