A group of determined golfers stayed on a Missouri fairway even as a funnel cloud started tossing debris as it moved across Payne’s Valley Golf Course in Hollister on Monday, May 13.The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed a tornado touched down near the Branson airport, a short drive from the golf course, on Monday. The NWS issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the area on the same day.Jack Wright captured this video and told Storyful a storm came through at around 3:15pm when his group were on holes three through five, but the rain had stopped at the start of hole six. People in the video can be heard saying, “It’s coming right at us,” and “watch out for debris.”“We teed off on hole seven, and when we got to our tee shots we looked back and noticed some wind start to swirl above the trees,” Wright said. “I pulled my phone out as my dad started yelling, ‘That looks like a tornado’.”“It was very loud and moved crazy fast,” Wright said.The NWS forecast additional showers and thunderstorms throughout the week, with minor flooding possible.
