Drunken Tory Conference Delegate Accidentally Gets £300 Uber From Manchester To London'

A young Tory supporter forked out more than £300 on an Uber back to London after enjoying a night out in Manchester following the Conservative Party Conference.

The 19-year-old was enjoying a booze-fuelled session in the centre of Manchester, having spent most of the day at the party’s conference.

But he woke the next day to find that he was both in London..and had paid over the odds to be there.

Posting the receipt on Facebook, he wrote: ‘Went out in Manchester, woke up in London.

‘Checked my emails to see a £311 Uber journey. Must have been an interesting night.’

It’s believed that he embarked on the long journey by accident - having put his home address into the taxi app by mistake.

The student recently worked as a campaign manager for a Tory MP - and told Buzzfeed how he could barely afford a tube journey, yet alone a trip back to Manchester.

‘Well you know what a drunken night out is like. I’m 19-years-old and intend to enjoy my youth’, he said.

Fortunately, his friends saw the funny side - labelling him a ‘lad’ and a ‘nutter.’

The gaffe comes after photos taken from outside Manchester Central on Monday night showed a number of drunken delegates struggling to stay on their feet - after the party removed a ban on Champagne at the conference.
