It's one year since the Queen died.
On 8 September last year, she died peacefully at Balmoral, aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.
Reflecting on the first anniversary of her death today, the King said he recalled with “great affection her long life, devoted service and all she meant to so many of us”.
Eleven days after her death, the Queen was reunited with her beloved Duke of Edinburgh after being buried together in Windsor.
Her funeral in London's Westminster Abbey had seen around 2,000 people, including world leaders and foreign royals, gather to pay their last respects to Britain's longest-reigning monarch.
Elizabeth II's casket was then taken to St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle for another service attended by 800 people, including Royal Family members, palace staff and people on the latest birthday honours list.
Her burial - next to Prince Philip at 7.30pm - was an "entirely private" and "deeply personal family occasion".

The tiny King George VI Memorial Chapel houses the remains of the Queen’s father George VI, her mother the Queen Mother and sister Princess Margaret.
When Philip died 17 months prior to the Queen, aged 99, his coffin was interred in the Royal Vault of St George’s – ready to be moved to the memorial chapel when his wife died.
The Duke of Edinburgh was widely regarded as the Queen’s "rock", with whom she enjoyed a happy marriage for nearly 74 years.
Paying tribute to her late husband in her final Christmas address to the nation, the monarch said: “His sense of service, intellectual curiosity and capacity to squeeze fun out of any situation were all irrepressible.”
She added: "That mischievous enquiring twinkle was as bright at the end as when I first set eyes on him.”
