Three vehicle crash closes major Dorset road

A three vehicle crash closed a major Dorset road this morning.

There were queues of traffic along the A35 just outside of Dorchester in both directions due to a collision which closed the southbound carriageway.

The area affected was from the Troy Town turn off to the the Stadium Roundabout, which is causing delays, after the collision happened near to the Stinsford Roundabout.

One passer-by had described traffic at being at a 'standstill'.

There have been no reports of injuries, according to Dorset Police

Motorists were advised to find an alternative route, however, the road has now reopened.

A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "A three-vehicle road traffic collision was reported at 8.20am on Friday, May 10 on the A35 Stinsford heading towards Dorchester.

"The road is currently blocked and there are no reports of any injuries."
