A train undergoing a test run by Chile's state railway company (EFE) collided with a cargo train operated by private rail firm Fepasa, EFE said in a statement.

Video from the scene showed a large-scale emergency operation underway.

Reuters was able to confirm the locations of the video from road layout, road sign boards and street-lights which matched file and satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to independently verify the date when the video was filmed.
