Chelsea have been linked with a sensational move to bring Gonzalo Higuain to London, should Maurizio Sarri be appointed the club’s next manager.

Sarri worked with the Argentine striker before his move to Juventus, and a reunion with Higuain is said to be high on Sarri’s agenda, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Various reports this morning insinuate that a deal to bring Sarri to Stamford Bridge is edging closer, with talks expected in London next week.

Elsewhere, the Sun report that Anthony Martial is in talks with Manchester United over an extension to his current deal.

Standard Sport understands that the French forward is Tottenham’s No1 transfer target this summer, with the club having hoped to bolster their forward line with the seemingly unsettled star.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with moves for Sampdoria star Dennis Praet (in Gianluca Di Marzio) and Borussia Dortmund defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos (Mail on Sunday).
