I tried 'the nicest afternoon tea' in Liverpool at a discounted price and you can too

Liverpool Restaurant Week takes place from April 22 to April 28 and a restaurant serving the "nicest afternoon tea" is taking part.

I visited Oh Me Oh My, on The Strand, to try out the deal they have on offer. For a limited time only, customers will be able to get their hands on the champagne or cocktail afternoon tea, for £25, instead of £35.

After taking a quick look at the reviews online, I was excited to try it out, as many people saying it was “lovely” and “the nicest afternoon tea [they] have ever had”. The pretty venue, that's filled with fairy lights and candles, is found opposite the stunning Liver Building.

To start with, we were given a selection of teas to try - I went for the Butter Truffle tea, which was sweet and pleasant, while my sister went for the Gunpowder Supreme, aptly named as the rolls of green tea look like gunpowder. The food was elegantly presented on a cake stand, with macarons, mini cheesecakes and delicious buttery scones.

But it wasn’t all sweet, as there were also a selection of sandwiches, my favourite of which being the beef and horseradish, as I thought it was a perfect savoury compliment to the rest of the food. Other rave reviews on Google seem to agree with me, with one person saying: “The savoury options were just as good as the sweets, and the setting was just as beautiful as the food!”

Another gave them five stars, adding: “What an absolutely fantastic place this is. My favourite afternoon tea in ages.” Needless to say, I can’t wait to visit again. You can watch the full TikTok video of my experience above.
