Trott Urges England To Bounce Back

Trott: It Was Burn Out, Not Depression

Jonathan Trott has spoken of the importance of bouncing back quickly from a disappointing defeat as England prepare for the 2nd Test in India.

Trott has spoken of the importance of bouncing back quickly from a disappointing defeat as England prepare for the 2nd Test in India.

"We didn't play well in the 1st Test match. We had good individual performances but we didn't play well as a team, and we had opportunities to put India under pressure but it just didn't happen."

"It'll be good to strike back straight away and get to Calcutta at 1-1 and it's very important we have that mindset. You wouldn't want a week or 8 days mulling over the game."

Trott only scored seventeen runs in the First Test, but denied that England's batsmen were struggling to cope with the conditions on the subcontinent.

"We've got to put five good days together, it's not just playing spin that's the problem. We've got to put a good game together with the ball and the bat."

"We knew India would be a huge challenge coming here and we understand the challenge that lies ahead for us in these 3 games, but we know we can do it."

The Second Test begins in Mumbai on Friday, with coverage live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD.
