Two People Winched to Safety After Recreational Boat Sinks

Emergency services in Western Australia rescued two people from the water 40 kilometres (25 miles) north of Fremantle on December 27 after their recreational boat sank.

The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) detected their distress beacon and water police responded to reports of flare sightings from the area. The two people were winched to safety and taken ashore for medical treatment. Credit: Western Australia Police Force via Storyful
