Tyler man sentenced to 44 years in prison for 2021 murder

TYLER, Texas (KETK) — A Tyler man was sentenced to 44 years in prison in relation to a 2021 shooting.

According to court records, Zaccheus Keion Dunn, 26 of Tyler, was found guilty for the murder of Christopher Frank Eiglebiger on Monday.

Eiglebiger was shot on May 13, 2021 at a house on the 800 block of Crosby Street. Police arrested Dunn two days later.

A second suspect was later identified by police as Dakevian Beniot Scroggins, 29 of Tyler, who was on the run for more than two months. During that time, Scroggins was added to the Texas DPS 10 Most Wanted list.

On July 25, at around 10:15 p.m., Tyler Police and other agencies located Scroggins, who was later charged with capital murder, evading arrest/detention and a parole violation.

Scroggins’ trial is scheduled for Monday on capital murder by terror threat.
