UK GAS-Prices dip on Norwegian flows, expected LNG deliveries

July 5 (Reuters) - British wholesale gas prices dipped on Wednesday due to high Norwegian flows and expectations for liquefied natural gas (LNG) deliveries in July. * The day-ahead gas price fell by 0.10 pence to 37.10 pence/therm at 0945 GMT. * "Losses are marginal, as the system is more balanced, (led by) anticipation for more LNG in July," a British gas trader said, adding that high Norwegian flows kept the prices from rising. * Wednesday's gas imports to Britain from Norway met Tuesday's high levels of 70 million cubic metres (mcm), despite an outage at Norway's Gjoea field, causing reduced flows via the Entry SEGAL pipeline. * Entry SEGAL's unplanned outage is expected to last up to three weeks, Norwegian gas system operator Gassco said on Sunday, extending the expected duration further. * Britain's gas market was undersupplied by 7.1 mcm, with Wednesday's forecast demand at 194.0 mcm/day and supplies at 186.9 mcm/day, National Grid (LSE: NG.L - news) data showed. * Average temperatures on Wednesday could reach 28 degrees Celsius in southern Britain and are forecast to mostly maintain their levels until Saturday (Shenzhen: 002291.SZ - news) , UK Met Office data showed. * Peak wind power generation is forecast at 1.2 gigawatts (GW) on Wednesday and is expected to stay low at 1.8 GW on Thursday, National Grid data showed. * August gas contract was down by 0.10 pence at 36.80 p/therm. * The British baseload day-ahead power price was up 1.85 pounds at 50.00 pounds per megawatt hour (MWh) * Day-ahead gas at the Dutch TTF hub fell by 0.15 euros at 15.20 euros/MWh. * Benchmark Dec-17 EU carbon contract fell by 0.01 euros to 5.11 euros a tonne. * Thomson Reuters (Dusseldorf: TOC.DU - news) analyst view: http://emea1.apps.cp.extranet.thomsonreuters.biz/cms/?pageid=united-kingdom-gas (Reporting by Lefteris Karagiannopoulos in Oslo; editing by Susan Thomas)
