'This is Unacceptable!': Susan Sarandon Addresses Crowds of Protesters at Palestine Rally

Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon addressed crowds of pro-Palestine protesters in New York on Saturday, March 2.

This footage, filmed by Katherine Smith, shows part of Sarandon’s speech at Washington Square Park.

“Our enemy is greed, and our enemy is silence,” the 77-year-old told the hundreds of protesters who braved wet weather as part of an international day of demonstrations for Gaza.

“The silence of those who look away when you see crushed children, starving babies, wailing mothers, fathers digging through the rubble to try to find their families. This is unacceptable.” Sarandon added.

The actress was just one of several high-profile attendees set to address the rally, including activist Jill Stein and actress Sara Ramirez, according to a poster shared online by the People’s Forum. Credit: Katherine Smith via Storyful
