A manhunt has been launched after a young woman was sexually assaulted on a crowded bus in west London.

The 22-year-old victim was attacked after she boarded a number 607 bus in Lees Road in Hayes.

She felt the suspect stroke the top of her leg for several seconds before she was able to move away.

The suspect then went on to touch her bottom for several more seconds, police said.

After the assault, which happened at around 8.20am on January 17, the suspect got off the bus, which was heading towards Uxbridge Town Centre, in York Road.

The man wanted by police is described as of Arabian or North African appearance, in his 30s and around 5ft 8ins, with short and dark hair.

A Met Police spokesman said: “He was described as wearing a light blue fleece.

“Detectives from the Met's Roads and Transport Policing Command (RTPC) are investigating.”

No arrests have been made.
