Victim Support Scotland looking for Inverclyde volunteers to support local people

A NATIONAL charity is looking for volunteers from Inverclyde to help support victims of crime and people who have witnessed criminal acts.

Victim Support Scotland (VSS) needs local people to help with delivering much-needed emotional and practical support.

The independent charity provides free and tailored help to anyone affected by crime in Scotland.

Volunteers should be available for a minimum of four hours a week to help with a range of duties.

Comprehensive hands-on training and day-to-day support will be provided.

Kate Wallace, chief executive of Victim Support Scotland, said: "Volunteers are the backbone of our organisation, and we need more of them in Inverclyde to ensure we can continue to deliver vital services to the people who need it most in the area.

"Our dedicated teams provide a broad range of support to help people affected by crime take control and move forward with their lives.

"Our work helps ease concerns and anxieties and offers comfort and hope to people in our own communities.

"Without volunteers, these services wouldn’t be possible."
