Victoria and David Beckham Wish 'Baby Brooklyn' a Happy 17th Birthday with Heartfelt Messages and Adorable Throwback Photos

It turns out Victoria and David Beckham are just as mushy and embarassing as your parents.

The couple took to their Instagrams Friday morning to share heartfelt messages wishing their eldest son, Brooklyn, a happy 17th birthday.

"17 years ago today this little man came into this world and changed our lives in so many ways," PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive, 40, captioned an adorable throwback photo of himself and his son. "We were given the most precious gift that makes us smile and proud every time he walks through the door... Not so little anymore but look at the smile. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUST"

"Happy Birthday beautiful boy," the mom formerly known as Posh Spice, 41, captioned a vintage photo of Brooklyn. "We are so proud and love you so much. Can't believe baby Brooklyn is 17 today."

In November, Victoria told PEOPLE that Brooklyn tends to be embarrassed by his parents.

"When David takes Brooklyn to school, Brooklyn makes him drop him down at the end of the street, because he thinks it's embarrassing," Victoria said. "I'm like, if you're embarrassed by your dad and he's David Beckham, what chance does any other father at the school have?"

Meanwhile, Brooklyn is thinking about one of the perks of turning 17: learning to drive.

"Looking forward to my first driving lesson," he wrote when he shared a throwback photo of himself on Instagram.

The young social media star also shared an artsy black-and-white photo of himself surrounded by ballon strings, fittingly captioned, "birthday balloons."
