Farage to Tspiras: Have Courage to Leave Eurozone

The leader of THE right-wing British party UKIP, Nigel Farage, used his allotted time at the European Parliament meeting on July 8 to address Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, saying he should “lead his people out of the eurozone”. On July 4, Greeks voted no in a referendum intended to gauge acceptance of a debt deal put forward by the country’s creditors after it defaulted on its debt to the International Monetary Fund on June 30.

Nigel Farage added that the no vote was an indicator that “the European project is actually beginning to die.” Tspiras in turn took the floor to say that Greece would be undergoing critical reform measures, and that previous governments led the country into corruption and clientelism.
