NATO Chief Tells Russia to Withdraw Troops, Support From East Ukraine

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg restated the organization’s positions on Ukraine during a May 19 meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, calling for the withdrawal of troops from the country’s east and for the cessation of support for separatists. The NATO chief also said he told Lavrov he was concerned about the number of military “snap exercises.” NATO stopped cooperation with Russia April 14 but continues communication. Credit: YouTube/NATO
