Palestine Becomes Member State of the International Criminal Court

The International Criminal Court, in the Hague, Netherlands, on Wednesday April 1 formally inducted Palestine as a member state. The court said Palestine would become the 123rd state party to the Rome Statute, its founding treaty. The ICC can prosecute people for war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity.

“In the face of the great injustice our people are enduring, and the repeated crimes committed against it, Palestine has decided to seek justice, not vengeance,” Dr. Riad Al-Malki, Palestine’s foreign affairs minister, said. Credit: YouTube/IntlCriminalCourt
