Police Chase Ends in Shootout on DC's H Street

An incident that began as a domestic kidnapping developed into a fatal shooting at the US Census Bureau and ended with another shooting in downtown Washington, DC, on Thursday night, April 9. Police were called to the US Census Bureau in Suitland after a guard who approached a car in which two people were arguing was shot in the chest. The car was believed by police to be that of a kidnapping suspect.

The guard died later in hospital, according to NBC News. The gunman then fled the scene and was chased by police to H Street in downtown Washington, DC, where a police officer and the suspect were wounded in a shootout. These videos show the scene on H Street.
