President Goodluck Jonathan Pays Visit to Troops Fighting Boko Haram

In his role as commander-in-chief of Nigeria’s armed forces, President Goodluck Jonathan visited troops in the northeast of the country on February 26. Jonathan, flanked by several service chiefs, reportedly stopped off in the towns of Mubi and Baga, in Borno state, to show his support for the battle against Boko Haram.

Jonathan’s government drew heavy criticism when it recently postponed Nigeria’s general elections from mid-February to late March, citing the security reasons in the north of the country. Credit: YouTube/DefenceInfo NG
