Royal Couple's Ireland Visit Draws to a Close

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall left Ireland on May 21 as their first official joint visit to the country came to an end. The trip began at Galway university on May 19, when Prince Charles met and shook hands with Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams. The royal visit included a trip to Mullaghmore Harbour in Sligo on May 20, where Charles’s great uncle Lord Mountbatten was killed in an IRA bombing in 1979.
