Samsung and Philips among tech firms raided by EU


Samsung Electronics and Philips have announced that they were among the companies been raided by the EU on suspicion of breaking competition rules.


Both firms said they were cooperating with inspectors.


The European Commission (EC) visited the offices of several companies selling consumer electronics and domestic appliances on Thursday, December 5.


The EC is concerned that the firms may have violated antitrust rules – and may have been colluding to limit the online sale of certain goods in order to drive up prices.
