Stanthorpe Residents Enjoy Rare Snow Fight

Snow fell in the Queensland town of Stanthorpe, around 220 kilometers (138 miles) southwest of Brisbane, on Friday, July 17, with up to eight centimeters (3 inches) of snow recorded in the morning. The snowfall began around midnight and continued through to 5 a.m. Some locals went outside to make snowmen at around 2 a.m., according to ABC News.
