Tornado Touches Down in the Southwest of France

A tornado tore through towns and farmland in France’s Charente-Maritime department on September 16 and was caught on camera by local resident Damien Landry. According to MCE, the twister reached speeds of 40km/ph (25 m/ph), and damaged up to 30 homes in six towns. Local news website Charente Libre reported that the tornado felled trees, ripped tiles off the roofs of 80 homes, and left 205 homes without electricity. Credit: YouTube/Damien Landry
