'Celebrity Mastermind' viewers 'screaming' with laughter as Amanda Henderson calls Greta Thunberg 'Sharon'

Amanda Henderson had viewers in stitches as she gave Greta Thunberg a new name on Celebrity Mastermind – Sharon.

The actress, who is best known for playing nurse Robyn Miller on Casualty, was one of the contestants on a celebrity episode of the game show alongside Paul Chuckle, TV chef Levi Roots and comedian Geoff Norcott.

She raced through her specialist subject - songs from animated Disney films from 1989 to 1999 – but stumbled when she got to general knowledge and was asked about the teenage climate change activist.

Quiz show host John Humphries asked her: “The 2019 book entitled No-one Is Too Small To Make A Difference is a collection of speeches made by a Swedish climate change activist. What is her name?”

Henderson was stumped and shook her head, before replying with a panicked look on her face: “Sharon?”

Viewers thought the gaffe was utterly hilarious, with many posting about in on social media.

One viewer on Twitter declared the moment was “comedy gold”, while another said it was “genuinely the greatest wrong answer of all time”.

“I AM SCREAMING,” said another tickled fan.

One viewer posted: “I will love Amanda Henderson forever for this. Not everyone feels obliged to genuflect before St Greta.”

Another person wondered if the environmental activist would “have the same gravitas if she was called Sharon”.

Several people said that the name “Sharon” might now be the perfect answer for all sorts of things.

“Sharon is now going to be my new catchphrase when anyone ticks me off!” said one.

“Sharon is the answer to anything and everything in 2020,” joked another.
