Series star and producer Vin Diesel has confirmed when we’ll be getting our first look at the upcoming eighth movie in the hugely popular automobile action series.

Ever the social media butterfly, the 49-year old actor, who will make his seventh appearance as road-racer turned international man of action Dominic Torretto in the film, announced the trailer’s premiere date via a Facebook post.

Keeping it simple, Diesel posted a photograph of himself in the movie, marked ‘December 11.’

So there we have it – just over ten weeks before we get our first real taste of what to expect from the new ‘Fast & Furious’ movie, directed by series newcomer F Gary Gray (‘The Italian Job,’ ‘Straight Outta Compton’).

The first new film in the series since the tragic death of Paul Walker during filming on ‘Fast & Furious 7,’ it will see the return of existing series stars Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Kurt Russell and Jason Statham.

They will be joined by ‘F&F’ newbies Charlize Theron, Scott Eastwood, Kristofer Hivju and Helen Mirren.

Shot in New York and Atlanta as well as Cuba and Iceland, the film wrapped photography late August.

Remarks made by Dwayne Johnson on social media sparked rumours of a conflict between the actor and Diesel – although it has since been rumoured this may be a PR stunt building up to a fight between the actors at WWE’s Wrestlemania 2017.

‘Fast & Furious 8’ is set to hit cinemas on 14 April 2017.
