Virgin Media down: Customers complain about major outage across UK affecting internet and phones
Virgin Media customers have complained their Internet and phone connections have gone down in what appears to be a major UK outage.
The problems began at around 4pm on Monday afternoon, according to website DownDetector which showed a huge spike in reports of problems.
Many customers took to Twitter to complain about not being able to get online and losing landline reception, while helplines are reportedly too busy to get through.
Virgin Media has been apologising to customers on Twitter. A spokesperson said to one: "Apologies, it seems we're having some system's issues here and are working hard to get all of the issues resolved as quickly as possible.
"Sorry for the delays and inconvenience caused."
