Virgin Media internet connection was reportedly down for majority of Reading

Many residents from across the Reading area have sent in reports that a common WIFI network is down, causing outrage across households.

It has since been confirmed that Virgin Media network was down today leaving many without internet.

A spokesperson for Virgin Media has since confirmed that the network is back up and running and customers need not worry about it cutting out again today.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said: “Services have been fully restored following a brief broadband outage which impacted a small number of customers in the Reading area for under an hour.

"We apologise to anyone impacted whilst we worked to quickly resolve the issue.”
