The Voice US undergoes huge shake-up as Adam Levine quits
The Voice US's Adam Levine has quit as a coach after 16 seasons in the red chair.
The Maroon 5 singer has been part of the series since it first began in 2011, and along with country singer Blake Shelton had been the only original coach still remaining.
However, the star has admitted it's "time to move on" as he thanked his colleagues in a lengthy Instagram post.
A post shared by Adam Levine (@adamlevine) on May 24, 2019 at 8:12am PDT
"After the first day of shooting, I sat there, stunned. I said to myself 'there's some magic here. Something is definitely happening,'" he recalled of starting on the series.
"It went on to be a life shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever. Thank you NBC for signing me up. I am truly honored to have been a part of something I'll always cherish for the rest of my life."
He later added: "To all of the loyal voice fans, there's literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING."

The news of the star's departure was announced by Voice US host Carson Daly on Today yesterday (May 24), and Levine's seat will now be taken by returning coach Gwen Stefani (who's been dating Shelton since 2015).
Season 17's coaching panel will now be made up of the 'Hollaback Girl' singer, Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and John Legend.
The Voice US airs on NBC.
