We finally have our first official news about what The Walking Dead has in store for its season 7B premiere.

There's been so much hype about Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his crew of survivors finally making their big comeback after living under the brutal rule of Negan and his army of Saviors.

However, the title of of the premiere itself 'Rock in the Road' is ominous - although perhaps it's a metaphor for Negan as a roadblock that the crew have to fight their way through.

AMC has also given us this very brief synopsis, which reads simply: "Rick is introduced to a new community."

This one's a bit easier to decipher, since a trailer at the end of the mid-season premiere revealed that Rick will rally two other Negan-oppressed communities - the Hilltop Colony and the Kingdom - to fight by his side.

Since we've already seen Rick at the Hilltop Colony, it's at least plausible that the premiere will centre around him being introduced to the Kingdom's leader King Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and his tiger Shiva.

What we know for sure is that Rick and his allies really will be bringing the fight to Negan and the Saviors at some point during the remaining season seven episodes.

"He wants revenge," Daryl actor Norman Reedus previously revealed. "He's ready to fight. When he goes back in that last episode and hands Rick back his stuff, it was like, 'Let's go! Let's go beat this guy up.

"Let's go take what's ours and fight this monster'. So, you know, he's in kill mode."

The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, February 12 on AMC in the US, with FOX UK airing the show a day later on this side of the pond.
