Wantage musician given University of Oxford specialist brass band role

A musician from Wantage's resident band has been given a new position at the University of Oxford.

Morris Harper is a member of Wantage Silver Band and was recently appointed Musical Director of the University of Oxford Brass Band.

His first concert was last week and went well leaving his Wantage bandmates impressed.

A spokesperson for Wantage Silver Band: "Congratulations to Wantage Band’s, Morris Harper (also known as “Mozza” in rehearsals)!

"Morris is the newly appointed Musical Director of Oxford University Brass Band and last night they had their first concert with Morris at the helm.

"Wantage Band had a brilliant time performing alongside them last October and we hope that a date can be set for a repeat visit!"
