Watch as British Airways flight aborts landing at Belfast airport during high winds

A British Airways flight was forced to abort landing at George Best Belfast City Airport this afternoon during stormy weather conditions.

The plane attempted to land at the airport after travelling from London City Airport at around 4pm on Thursday.

After the shaky approach towards the ground, the pilot aborted landing before taking the plane back into the sky moments later.

After a second approach the flight was able to land safely a short time later.

A spokesperson for BA said Flight BA756 the aircraft was forced into performing a go around due to the high winds in the area at the time, but landed as normal.

It's understood multiple flights arriving to the City Airport on Thursday afternoon have had to abort landings due to the difficult weather conditions.
