Watch this McDonald’s lover eat his 30,000th Big Mac hamburger in 46 years

A McDonald’s fan is celebrating after eating his 30,000th Big Mac.

Don Gorske, 64, from Fond du Lac in Wisconsin, completed the feat at his local McDonald’s restaurant last Friday.

The former prison guard has eaten at least one Big Mac almost every day for the past 46 years.

He has been munching on the burgers since May 17, 1972 and has kept most of the boxes or receipts or has made specific notes in calendars that he’s kept.

Guinness World Records has recognised Mr Gorske for the most Big Macs consumed since 2016, when his tally was 28,788.

Mr Gorske says he’s eaten so many Big Macs because he just loves hamburgers. He says his cholesterol and blood pressure are normal.

He was featured in the documentary film SuperSize Me.

He had his 30,000th Big Mac at the same place where he ate his first – and where he proposed to his wife, Mary, in 1975.

Mr Gorse had his first McDonald’s on the day he got his first car, driving to the restaurant at lunch to eat three Big Macs. He returned twice that same day, eating a total of nine Big Macs.

He says he ate 265 Big Macs in the month that followed, or eight and a half burgers a day.

He says there have only been eight days since 1972 when he hasn’t eaten a Big Mac – one of which was the death of his mother.

Mr Gorse said he has only ever tried a Whopper from Burger King on one occasion – he said he had one as a bet in 1984, but hasn’t had one since. He took the $5 he won after a friend bet him he couldn’t eat a Whopper and spent it on more Big Macs.
