Water Levels Drop in Russia's Worst-Hit Flood Area

Russian authorities said water levels dropped in Russia’s Orenburg region as aerial footage released on Tuesday, April 9, showed swathes of the worst-hit area still under water.

Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said water levels in Orenburg had dropped by 9 cm (3.5 inches) on Monday.

As of Tuesday morning, 10,327 residential buildings and 12,821 household plots remained flooded in the oblast, TASS reported, citing authorities.
