Weapons and drugs have been seized from a home in Dorchester.

Dorset Police found a small quantity of drugs and two 'offensive weapons' following housing visits to properties in Dorchester.

Officers were joined by housing officers from Dorset Council, Magna Housing and Abri Housing as they responded to complaints of anti-social behaviour and suspected drug related activity in the area.

Enquiries remain on going following the seizure of drugs and weapons from one property.

A spokesperson for Dorchester Police said: "Officers from the neighbourhood team carried out a number of joint housing visits today with Housing Officers from Dorset Council, Magna Housing and Abri Housing.

"We also assisted DW Fire with a planned visit to a property.

"This was as a result of complaints of anti-social behaviour and suspected drug related activity stemming from addresses that were visited.

"A small quantity of drugs and two offensive weapons were seized at one address we attended.

"Enquires are ongoing.

"We were also able to develop community intelligence around some of the issues that have already been identified which will be able to assist ongoing work and disruption.

"Joint visits with our housing partners is something that we regularly do to tackle community issues on our patch.

"Please continue to report your concerns to the police and/or housing so the appropriate action can be taken."
