A coffee shop boasting breathtaking views over Ogmore-By-Sea has become a firm favourite for caffeine lovers after years of serving coffee from a truck on the beach - and it's the ideal spot to unwind and watch the waves.
Welsh Coffee Company, established by Huw Williams in 2011, is deeply rooted in slow, outdoor living and respect for nature. So much so that their coffee is roasted in a farm building at Penllyn Estate in the Vale of Glamorgan using a Probat roaster named Dragon, powered by solar energy.
The company's headquarters are located in Ogmore "so that we can see the sea and check the surf, while we work". And their coffee shop at their Ogmore base has grown in popularity ever since opening last year.

The cafe features stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea and a Scandi-inspired interior with light wood and natural colours throughout. The space is further enhanced by an array of plants and wooden furniture, including beautifully crafted stools and tables. Murals depicting fish, boats, surfboards and vans add a unique touch to the decor. The decor scheme clearly reflects the interests of the company's founder - namely surfing, walking, yoga and nature, as stated on their website. This undoubtedly mirrors the influence of renowned Scandinavian and Australian coffee roasters, known for their passion for high-quality light roast coffees that offer superior flavours.
Besides operating a mobile coffee truck and a coffee shop, Welsh Coffee Co initially launched as a coffee roaster, retailing its own beans. They only use the "best coffee beans which are grown on small hillside farms from across the tropics".
Their quality is so commendable that in the past they've secured a Great Taste Award for three consecutive years and have been recognised as a Great Taste Producer.
