An exciting new entertainment venue boasting a coffee bar, kitchen, outdoor grill and table pods is set to open at a busy West Lothian shopping centre soon.

Replacing former Italian restaurant Prezzo at Livingston Designer Outlet, Nineteen62 is set to open at unit 32 offering guests an experience like no other, no matter what the occasion.

The spacious unit is set to operate as a cafe, as well as a bar and restaurant with a large outdoor seating area featuring pergolas and table pods with live music also planned for the trendy spot.

The venue is set to open soon with the team behind sister properties Cafebar 1912 in Bathgate and Cafebar 1807 in Linlithgow behind the expansion. A teaser image of how the bar's interior will look has also been added to the site as well as a description of what customers can expect.

Introducing guests to the new concept, Nineteen62 wrote: "Welcome to Nineteen62 Livingston coming this year to Livingston Designer Outlet. Cafebar, coffee bar, beer garden, live music.

"We're not a restaurant and we're not a pub. We're that dine or don't type of place you go for a great time no matter what you're looking for."

Also submitted to West Lothian Council are plans for the venue's interior and exterior floor plan. The ground floor unit will include several seating areas indoors with several bars and a kitchen.

A self-contained grill area and servery is also included in the plans for the outdoor seating area with fire pits, timber pergolas and several four-person pods.

In April 2023, we reported how the unit's former occupiers, Italian restaurant Prezzo, announced its sad closure due to rising costs.

In a statement, Dean Challenger, chief executive of Prezzo, said: “The last three years have been some of the hardest times I have ever seen for the high street and I’m extremely proud of the way our colleagues have retained Prezzo’s position as an appealing, trusted, great value food and drink experience.

“But the reality is that the cost-of-living crisis, the changing face of the high street and soaring inflation has made it impossible to keep all our restaurants operating profitably.

“We believe the tough decisions we are making today will ensure Prezzo can continue serving communities with high-quality, accessible Italian-inspired meals for many more years to come.”
