What to watch on Disney+ in February 2024 from Shogun to The Marvels

Disney+ is bringing the magic in February, making exciting releases in big franchises like Star Wars and Marvel available to subscribers as well as launching new dramas for viewers to dig into.
The streamer has a busy month ahead, celebrating the season of love by releasing a slew of hit rom-com movies from the past decade ahead of Valentine's Day. Elsewhere, family friendly programmes like the latest release in the Miraculous Ladybug franchise will be brought to the platform in February.
Elsewhere, Disney+ will be releasing boxsets for viewers to binge to their hearts content, like Claire Danes' high-octane Showtime series Homeland, and a new season of comedy Life & Beth. Here is everything that you need to know.
The Marvels | 7 February
It may not have been a box office hit, but now Marvel fans will have the chance to watch the franchise's latest film The Marvels from the comfort of their own home. The film stars Brie Larson, Iman Vellani and Teyonah Parris as Captain Marvel, Ms Marvel and Monica Rambeau respectively.
Streaming in February 2024
The trio form a team to face a common enemy, Dar-Benn (Zawe Ashton), who is trying to save the Kree planet Hala by taking the resources it needs from other planets, no matter the cost.
Suncoast | 9 February
After impressing critics at Sundance film festival, this indie-style teen drama written and directed by Laura Chinn, stars Nico Parker, Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson, and will stream exclusively on Disney+ in the UK.
Based on the semi-autobiographical story of a teenager (Nico Parker) who, while caring for her brother along with her audacious mother (Laura Linney), strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric activist (Woody Harrelson) who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3 | 21 February
The Bad Batch are back for a final season, with the elite squad of clone troopers continuing their journey as fugitives of the Empire after resisting Order-66. The animated series will return for 15 episodes which will bring their story to a close and continue to build on the legacy of the Star Wars animation universe.
Shōgun | 27 February
FX is heading into the historical epic genre with Shōgun, a war epic adapting James Clavell's book of the same name that sees an English sailor become caught up in the world of Japanese politics at the height of the Sengoku period (or the Warring States period). After being shipwrecked in Japan, John Blackthorne (Cosmo Jarvis) is taken in by Lord Toranaga (Hiroyuki Sanada), a powerful daimyo preparing to face his political rivals.

Though the series, and its source material, is fictional it takes inspiration from the story of William Adams, an English navigator who went on to become a samurai for Tokugawa Ieyasu, one of the most important figures in Japanese history who became the country's first shōgun. The drama also stars Pachinko's Anna Sawai, and Tadanobu Asano.
Iwájú | 28 February
Set in Lagos, Nigeria, Iwájú follows the coming-of-age story of Tola, and Kole who embark on dangerous adventures in different worlds. As well as the animated series, Disney+ will launch a documentary special about the making of the show titled Iwájú: A Day Ahead.
