Find out what's coming to empty Island town centre shop

The future of an empty Isle of Wight town centre shop has been revealed.

168 High Street, Ryde, was last occupied by Diamond Pet Stores, but has sat empty since its closure in Easter.

At the time, owners, John and Debbie, announced they were retiring after seven years at the helm.

A sign on the door said the decision was made with "a heavy heart".

It read: "We would like to sincerely thank all our loyal customers many of whom have become friends over the years."

Now, it has been announced that the shop will become a charity shop.

A sign on the window reveals that the empty building is turning into a store, belonging to the RSPCA Isle of Wight branch.

RSPCA Isle of Wight previously had a shop in the town, next to Iceland.

No date has been confirmed for its opening but the sign says the shop will be 'soon'.

Before becoming Diamond Pet Supplies, the building was home to The Bagel Wrap - which can now be found on Union Street.

Next door is the former Mountain Warehouse, which closed earlier this year and remains empty.
