Greater Manchester is set for a second warm and sunny weekend on the bounce, according to Met Office forecasters. But don't get too excited - the dry spell is set to end by Monday.
Despite forecasts to the contrary, the bank holiday weekend just gone was mostly warm and dry across Greater Manchester. Now Met Office forecasters have said the upcoming weekend will be much the same, with temperatures reaching 22C on Saturday and Sunday.
Tomorrow (Thursday) will start with low cloud, mist and fog across parts of Greater Manchester although this is set to clear quickly inland leaving another fine day with plenty of sunshine. The mercury will reach a maximum 20C.
The forecast for Friday to Sunday is also for a spell of nice, dry weather, with high pressure dominating, according to the Met Office. They promise: "Plenty of warm sunshine with the odd shower, before turning more unsettled from the west later on Sunday."
The chances of rainfall during most of the weekend is rated as five per cent. It's not exactly the Bahamas, but the weekend is characterised by sunny spells and temperatures possibly reaching 22C.
But then a change.
The Met Office predicts a 'return to an unsettled and showery pattern' from Monday onwards, adding. "Rain and showers, perhaps heavy and thundery, are expected across much of the country.
"Rainfall amounts could be above average in many areas, especially where showers merge and become slow moving. Winds could fresh at times, especially near heavier showers and along coasts. Temperatures will not be as high as the previous week, and are expected to fall closer to average for May. Where it remains damp and cloudy it will feel much cooler than of late. However where there are any breaks in the cloud, and where winds fall light, it will feel warm in any sunny spells."
So it's probably wise to enjoy the sunshine this weekend.
